2005 Feature Garden

Orginal Drawing Landart used an arts and crafts theme for the garden. Arts and Crafts gardens were more dynamic spaces than previous Victorian gardens. A high level of craft was used within the hard landscaping which was softened with a less formal planting style. Garden buildings blurred the boundaries between the living spaces of house and garden.
An iron gate led you to a paved path that ended with a stone trough fed from a spout in a dry stone wall which in turn fed the rill. A dovecote was placed on a lawn framed by bleached hornbeams and old fashioned railings. An oak pergola led to steps towards the oak framed garden room. This had a stone cobbled floor and a Lutyens’ style bench to enjoy the view back through the garden.
