Feature Garden 2007 ~ Large Gold and Best in Show

Folly Junction The garden entitled 'Folly Junction' was inspired by a weekend trip on the West Somerset Railway and aimed to conjure the romantic and nostalgic feelings associated with steam railways. There was full scale railway track to the front of the garden and a sedum roofed signal box which had been converted into a potting shed that was full of pelargoniums and a pot belly stove. To the front of the signal box cottage style planting ran alongside the railway track and to the side there were 4 oak raised beds designed as a small kitchen garden and this was surrounded by ash hurdle fencing. The rest of the garden and the railway track was covered with wild flowers and grasses. Brick paths were planted with erigeron and Soleirolia soleirolii, (commonly known as Mind Your Own Business) to give the feeling that the garden had been there forever.
